Pre-Facing Race Press Briefing
Race Forward’s biennial Facing Race convening will be Nov. 12-14 in Raleigh NC. It is the largest post-election meet-up of racial justice academics, artists, organizers and students in the nation. This space is designed to strengthen alignment and expand the conditions needed for justice, equity, and democracy to thrive. I would like you to be there, and have included a media credentials request form below. But I also want to brief you on what to expect during the event and give you first rights of refusal to meet the keynote speakers and the president of Race Forward, Glenn Harris. Please join Glenn Harris, author, sociologist and New York Times columnist Tressie McMillan Cottom; writer, speaker and former executive director of Nonprofit AF, Vu Le; and author, comedian and commentator W. Kamau Bell on September 23 from 1:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. EDT. You can register below. To participate in the briefing, register before September 16.
“We are keenly aware that this conference is occurring at a time of increasing efforts to undermine democracy,” said Glenn Harris, president, Race Forward. “The throughline between event speakers is a sharp analysis of race and democracy at a time of unprecedented attacks on both. We could not be more thrilled to have Tressie McMillan Cottom, W. Kamau Bell and Vu Le with us. They are exactly who our movement needs.”
