- Think of pitching as selling a product or service. Only you’re selling something that people really need.
- The catch, is you do not want to come off as a self-interested salesperson, but you do need to be confident in the issue you are pitching so you can speak about it or write an effective pitch.
- Lead with the story, then the client. Unless the client is a celebrity, lead with the story, the action or the work they are doing. Get reporters interested in the concept and then discuss the client.
