6 Key Conferences to Sponsor in 2026

In a changing media landscape, many people are wondering how they can contribute and make an impact. We know that it is important to invest in independent and Black-owned media to support mission-aligned voices. To continue this support, consider sponsoring independent and Black-organized conferences.

By creating space in your budget to invest in value-aligned conferences, you can build relationships with journalists, get on the radar of media influencers and have a larger platform to discuss and promote your work. Not only will your brand be visible to attendees, but you can also leverage your investment for future earned media. Below are six conferences for you to consider sponsoring in 2026.

Engage for Good Conference

The Engage for Good Conference will celebrate 23 years of social impact work. With over 750 leaders joining to build partnerships in the current political moment, your sponsorship will have great reach. You can connect and join forces with innovators dedicated to diversity and progressive impact, facilitating opportunities for your work.

This event will last from April 21 through April 26, 2026 and will take place in Palm Springs, California. Engage for Good focuses on collaboration and growth for social impact, and you can be a part of it through sponsorship.

Religion News Association 2026 Conference

If you are interested in the religious news market, the Religion News Association (RNA) 2026 Conference offers an opportunity for investment. Going on 77 years, this event gives a space for reporters, scholars and leaders in religious media to convene. Getting eyes on your organization at this event can allow for future collaborations and coverage of your work.

The RNA 2026 Conference will take place from April 23 through April 25, 2026 in Atlanta, Georgia. Consider sponsorship to uplift your organization throughout the trainings, panels and networking events.

American Black Film Festival

To invest in Black-created media, consider sponsoring the American Black Film Festival. This event will bring together a community of leaders in film, television, business and beyond to celebrate culture and creativity. A sponsorship for this event will highlight your work for the movers and shakers of storytelling and a broad range of media.

The 30th annual American Black Film Festival will take place in Miami Beach, Florida from May 27 through May 31, 2026. Following the theme “The Homecoming,” sponsoring this event will lead you into fellowship with prominent media voices.

National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Convention and Career Fair

With a history of over 50 years, the NABJ Convention and Career Fair is a reliable and effective investment. Around 3,000 to 4,000 people or more typically attend, and becoming a sponsor may come with panel or workshop opportunities. Sponsoring this event will raise your visibility and allow you to share your message with Black journalists across the country. It will also connect you with outlets, reporters and other sponsors who value your work and perspective. This can open doors for growth and earned media expanding beyond the convention itself.

The next NABJ convention will take place in Atlanta, Georgia from August 12 to August 16, 2026.

National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) Annual Convention

Along a similar line, the NNPA Annual Convention will connect you with publishers from over 200 Black-owned newspapers. Investing here will build your network and introduce you to opportunities to share your work, collaborate and advertise.

The dates and details for this event have not been released as of November 2025. However, the NNPA will hold their virtual Mid-Winter Training Conference from January 29-30, 2026. The theme is “The Black Press and Economic Empowerment.” If you are interested in learning more about the NNPA and their conventions, consider attending this while you wait for more information.

Facing Race: A National Conference

Hosted by Race Forward, the Facing Race conference highlights racial justice through a multiracial, intergenerational lens. The biennial event hosts thousands of organizers, activists and leaders interested in building power, strategy and resources.

Offering support for this conference puts you at top of mind for leaders in the world of racial justice. In the current moment, unity and connection are valuable assets for preserving a multiracial democracy. While further details are not yet available, this conference will be hosted in November of 2026.
